# 974. Who Said Crime Doesn't Pay !!!
Juliet Hulme of Hulme-Parker murder notoriety has spoken out about the killing, saying she deserved the solitary confinement she was given in the Auckland Mt.Eden prison. Hulme - who became British writer Anne Perry - and Pauline Parker, when they were both teenagers, murdered Pauline's mother in Christchurch in 1954, by bludgeoning here with a brick.
New Zealand director, Peter Jackson made a movie, called Heavenly Creatures, about the killing.
Perry, now 67 is a prolific crime writer of more than 50 novels with sales of 20 million copies. Parker become a riding instructor in Kent under the name of Hilary Nathan.
Opera Inspired By NZ-Chinese Poet - In China, Gu Cheng was one of the most celebrated poet's of the 1980's. He immigrated to NZ where he & his wife lived on Waiheke Island. The couple had seperated and had been dicussing divorce. Gu was said to be distressed at the thought of losing his wife to another man, so he took an axe and.......killed her, chopping her into bits. Then he took his own life !!!
Now Gu's strange life and brutal end are the inspiration for "Mercury Light End", a new opera by chinese composer Cong Su, which has opened in Berlin. After Berlin, the opera will travel to Basel; Switzerland and Brisbane. Stage Director, Chen Shi-Zheng will also direct his first film, in the summer time, called "Dark Matter", about the chinese physics student Lu Gang who shoot 6 people and then himself on a Iowa campus. Chen sees many parallels between his life and that of Gu. Both were children during the Culture Revolution. Chen's mother was shoot in front of him, when he was 4 and he was raised by a troupe of Hunan, funeral singers, learning the finer points of Kunju opera in an era when most classical arts were repressed or forbidden.
Bacon Anyone ??? - A German farmer confessed to feeding the corpse of an elderly family friend to his pigs and then stealing from his bank account. Police ruled out murder and instead the farmer has been charged with improper burial and fraud. The farmer initially put the corpse in a freezer and told locals, the man was in a "rest home" !!!

Several hundred patients have received the transplants in Europe & the USA. Six to eight fetuses are required to provide the necessary brain cells for each operation.
