# 971. A Very Nasty Fall(s)

A man born by the name of Bobby Leach born in 1857 in Cornwall !!! Ring any bells ??? No !!! Barrel / Falls ??? Still nothing ??? Bobby got into a barrel and went over the Victoria Falls, on the 25th July, 1911. He ended up with 2 broken kneecaps and a broken jaw, and went down in history as the first man ever to go over the falls. But the falls didn't killed - no, because he toured various countries on lecture tours. Even came as far down as New Zealand on his lecture tours. But..........guess what ? While walking down Custom St, here in Auckand he slipped on a piece of orange peel, fracturing his leg, which result in him getting gangrene, which resulted in his death !!! So after the big fall over the falls, it took a little fall on a footpath to kill him !!! The strange thing about all this is that he is burried here in Auckland in the Hillsborough Cemetery. Whether he was buried here for issues of economy or because there was no reason to repatriate his remains is unclear.
Footnote: Bobby Leach may of been the first man to go over the falls in the barrel, but he wasn't the first human - that went to a lady Annie Taylor, who went over the falls in a barrel on 24th October, 1901, when she was 63 years old. So a woman was first at something !!!

Nightmare Advice - If you had a quickie marriage, here's an even quicker divorce !!!
A Muslim couple in India hve been told by local Islamic leaders that they mus separate after the husband "divorced" his wife in his sleep. The husband, according to the wife, uttered the word "talaq" (divorice) in his sleep 3 times. The couple who had been married for 11 years, had 3 children. They were told they could split if they wanted to but could not re-marry for 1oo days.
Talk about a quick divorice !!!

Russia has opened a school teaching UFO spotters how to react if they come face to face with an alien (You smell like a shitty human !!!) The opening of the UFO schoolwas opened following a spate of crop circles (we all know how thay are done, don't we ???) in the area.

A nurse at a Stockholm hospital has been asked not to use his first name after concerns that it might cause confusion among patients - it could even give them a heart attack, who knows. So he has to use his middle name, Manuel. His bosses were worried that that patients would get the wrong idea, if they were told "Jesus will be with you soon and he will look after you" !!! (His first name was - Jesus !!!)
