A Taxing Time
Bangladeshi men wishing to have more than one wife, will have to pay a polygamy tax from next month in Rajshahi. Husbands taking on a second, third or even fourth wife, will have to pay 10,000 taka ($230) for the first additional bride; $695 for a second and $925 for a third. It doesn't mentiuon if the wife can have additional husbands or how much she has to pay.
Internet Murder
A Japanese man has been sentanced to jail for killing a 76 year old man on behalf of the victims son & grandson, who had placed an order for his murder on the internet. Naoya Katayama, 36, killed wheeelchair-bound Tsutomu by hitting him with a hammer, for which he was reportedly paid 2 million yen ($28,000). His defenceargued that Tsutomu had only sought to help other people by fulfilling the murder request.
Pizza Takes The Place Of Coffins
A late night driver of a station wagon pulled over, told the cops - no, the station wagon wasn't his and yes it did look like a hearse, because it was a hearse. He had borrowed the vehicle from a friends funeral parlour to deliver pizzas for a pizza company, as a night time job. The driver has since gone back to his day job. (At least the "meat" was fresh !!!)
Baa Baa Gone Baaddd
The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has removed nursery rhymes such as "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" from its primary school syllabus because they are too western !!! Children will now be taught english language rhymes, written by Indian poets.
What Price ?
A penniless Indian father gave up his two new-born twins for the price of a busfare !!! The farmer, a member of the Korba tribe in Chhattisgarth, one of India's poorest states gave the twins to a childless couple after his wife died in childbirth. The farmer who already had 5 children took the babies to a medical facility in Korba with the intention of abandoning them, where he met the childless couple who gave him $3.50 for a busfare.

John The Baptist's right hand has had many adventures, since it was cut from his body, 2000 years ago. The "hand" which normally resides in Montenegro, visits Russia again for the first time since it was smuggled out after the 1917 revolution. Since it arrived in a bullet-proof shrine, the relic has stirred religious fervour. Queues stretch several kilometres, as the faithful wait up to 11 hours, to kiss the glass display case, holding the relic, at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in central Moscow. One man who kissed the case, is said to have thrown away his crutches and skipped from the church !!!
Bear On The Rampage
A team of expert bear hunters from Finland have been called in to help capture, dead or alive a bear which is on the rampage, killing livestock and plundering beehives in Germany. The bear known as Bruno, which was introduced into the wild in Italy, fled to Austria, before crossing the border into Bavaria, Germany. If & when it is caught, Italy have said it does not want it back as it is causing too much trouble. A German wildlife park has agreed to give it a home. As the net closes in, Bruno portrayed by German wildlife experts, as a poor lovesick animal, so desperate at trying to find a mate, that he had been driven to snack fast-food style on sheep, with honey for dessert.
